Hakikanin sunan wannan kungiya shi ne Jama'a Mabiya Sunnar Annabi Dan Da'awa da Jihadi ( Arabic : جماعة اهل السنة للدعوة والجهاد Jamā'atu Ahlis Sunnah Lādda'awatih wal-Jihad ), amman amfi saninsu da sunansu na Hausa watau "Yan Boko Haram". [ 15 ] Moreover, it is still a matter of debate whether Boko Haram has links to terror outfits outside Nigeria and its fighters have frequently clashed with Nigeria's central government. [ 8 ] A US commander stated that Boko Haram is likely linked to AQIM (al-Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb). [ 16 ] [ 17 ] , although professor Paul Lubeck points out that no evidence is presented for any claims of material international support.
