Umaru bin Ali (c.1824-1891) ya zama Sultan na Sokoto daga 3 Oktoba 1881 zuwa 25 Maris 1891. Ya gaji Sultan Mu'azu bayan rasuwar marigayi a watan Satumba na 1881. Ali jika ne ga Uthman dan Fodio, jika ne ga Muhammed Bello kuma ɗan Aliyu Babba .
