Chinese Han Dynasty (202 BC – 220 AD) pottery figurines of scholarly gentrymen playing and arguing over a divinational board game of liubo. According to a University of Washington site, these types of figures were often placed in Han tombs so that the spirit of the deceased would utilize them as a means of entertainment in the afterlife.
