English: Charles-Philippe Vicomte de Patin is a son of Pierre de Patin and Catherine-Thérèse de Smet. He was born in Ypres, on April 19 in 1687. He received a noble title from Emperor Charles VI on December 5, 1735, and became Viscount de Pattyn or de Patin. He was a Knight, the Lord of Ter Beke, Burghcoutere and Langemarck. In 1721 he was regent-raadsheer of ‘den Hoogen Raad van Mechelen’. In 1729 he was a counsellor of the secret Imperial Council. In 1733 he was ‘Regent’ of the Hoogen Raad der Nederlanden at Vienna. He married, at Gent, on April 10 in 1715 to Trees-Waltrudis van de Bossche, daughter of Frans and Katrien De Vos. He often stayed at his home Ter Beke in Gheluwe, definitely in 1766 where he appears to have signed several documents. He died, in Gent, on July 17 in 1773. Prof. Dr. N. F. Declercq (Kortrijk 27 Dec 1975) is a descendant of Adrienne de Patin (1634-1710) and Marinus Vermeersch, who were a sister, respectively a brother of Philippe de Patin (1637-1712) and Anne Therese Vermeersch. The two latter were the grandparents of Charles Philippe de Patin, because their son was Pierre de Patin (1660-1735), who married Catherine Therese de Smet in 1663. Pierre and Catherine Therese were Charles Philippe's parents.

The portrait of Charles Philippe de Patin is a reproduction of a painting which is located at Chateau de Freyr and was painted during the lifetime of de Patin. The shown portrait was digitally improved before it was printed on canvas and should therefore be regarded as created in 2020. The two books, shown below the portrait, are part of the collection of the Archive Declercq de Silva. They are:
