The guitar played by Jon is known to be "Zim-Gar" guitar.

  • St. George EJ-2-T (probably by FujiGen) and 1964 Demian guitars (FujiGen's own export brand), etc. seem basically same as Jon's Zim-Gar. FujiGen's model may be the origin of later reissued Ibanez Jet King JTK1" (c.2002). Note that FujiGen had subcontracted with Teisco for manufacturing several Teisco models during early-mid 1960s (ex. J-1, J-2, EB-1 (or EB-18), VN-2, VN-4).
  • 1965 Palmer/Tempo guitar (by Matsumoku) shares basically same design, except for more broaden left horn. Note that Matsumoku had subcontracted with FujiGen for supplying wood parts, during almost 1963-1966.
  • Teisco MJ-2/MJ-2L (1963/1965), slightly preceding models, may possibly be the origin of above two models, although the left-side cutaway seems deeper than.
  • Guyatone LG-65T (1963-?) seems another variation, although the body shape and pickguard are slightly different. Note that Guyatone had relied on Teisco for several part of guitar manufacturing in 1960s, while they had provided several models to Hoshino Gakki/Ibanez.
