Printer's device on t.p. Each emblem consists of a motto in prose at head of page (in Roman), followed by woodcut ill. and an explanation in verse (in italic). Each emblem is then followed by a "narration philosophique" in prose. Each page has four-part border - arabesque, strap-work, or grotesque. Some borders attributed to Pierre Eskrich. Cf.
