Tarinkot (Dari), wanda aka fi sani da Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan" birni ne a kudu maso tsakiyar Afghanistan, wanda ke aiki a matsayin babban birnin Lardin Uruzgan. Yana zaune a 1,317 m (4,321 ft) sama da matakin teku, kuma an haɗa shi da hanyar sadarwa tare da Kandahar zuwa kudu, Nili a Lardin Daykundi zuwa arewa, da Mali a Lardin Ghazni zuwa arewa maso gabas.[1]

Da yake a cikin Gundumar Tarinkot, birnin yana da yawan jama'a kusan 71,604 a shekarar 2015. A cikin gundumar, manyan ƙungiyoyin Ƙabilar Pashtun guda biyu suna wakiltar su, ƙabilar Tareen: Popalzai, Barakzai, Nurzai, Achakzai; da ƙabilar Ghilzai: Tokhi, Hotak.[2]

Yawancin ƙasar da ke cikin gundumar an rarraba su a matsayin waɗanda ba a gina su ba (69%) wanda aikin gona ya kai 67%. Yankin zama yana da asusun 47% na ƙasar da aka gina. Filin jirgin saman Tarinkot yana cikin iyakokin birni, wanda shine na biyu mafi girma da aka gina (24%).[3][4]

A lokacin harin Taliban na watan Agustan 2021, duk Sojojin Tsaro na Afghanistan a karkashin Shugaba Ashraf Ghani sun mika wuya ga Taliban. Tarinkot ya ci gaba da kasancewa daya daga cikin wuraren da ba su da ƙaruwa a cikin ƙasar.[5]

Tarinkot ya kasance wani ɓangare na yankin Loy Kandahar (Babban Kandahar) a tarihi. Wannan yankin ya kasance wurin zama na wasu Tarin (ko Tareen) Pashtun tribal sardars, tun daga ƙarni na 12th-13th AD kuma wasu daga cikinsu daga baya suka yi ƙaura zuwa Yankin Indiya a lokacin ko bayan Mughal-Safavid War (1622-23).[6][7]

Tarinkot yana da ɗan ware. Yana zaune kusa da koguna biyu tare da cibiyar sadarwa ta hanyoyi daban-daban waɗanda ke ba da ruwa ga gonakin da ke kusa.
