Ta Yarjejeniyar,Jihohi sun yarda da ƙa'ida mai zuwa:ƙasa ta yarda da ƙyale ikon ƙasashen waje don kama jirgin ruwa na ɗan ƙasa da ke cikin tashar jiragen ruwa na ƙasashen waje.Ana iya kama shi ne kawai bayan an ba da sammacin kama shi a cikin ikon cikin gida na jihar tashar jiragen ruwa.Dokokin Yarjejeniyar suna aiki ne kawai idan duka jihar ɗan ƙasa da kuma jihar da ke kama ɓangarorin jihohi ne a cikin Yarjejeniyar.

An kammala kuma aka sanya hannu kan yarjejeniyar a ranar 10 ga Mayun shekarar 1952 a Brussels,Belgium ; Ya fara aiki a ranar 24 ga Fabrairu,1956. Jihohi 19 ne suka rattaba hannu a kai kuma ana aiki da shi a yankuna 71.Spain,asalin mai sa hannu kan Yarjejeniyar,ta yi tir da shi a cikin shekarar 2011.

Ma'ajiya na Yarjejeniyar ita ce gwamnatin Belgium.

A shekara ta 1999,an kammala Yarjejeniyar Kame Jiragen Ruwa ta Duniya.Manufar Hukumar Kula da Maritime ta Duniya ita ce Yarjejeniyar a shekarar 1999 za ta zo ne don maye gurbin Yarjejeniyar 1952,amma ya zuwa 2014 Yarjejeniyar 1999 tana da jam'iyyu 11 ne kawai.Ya fara aiki a ranar 14 ga Satumba,2011.
