Dam ɗin Woodhead, wani dam ne a kan Dutsen Tebur, Western Cape, Afirka ta Kudu . An gina shi a cikin shekarar 1897 kuma yana ba da ruwa zuwa Cape Town . Dam, wanda shi ne babban madatsar ruwa na farko a Afirka ta Kudu, an ayyana shi a matsayin Alamar Injiniya na Tarihi ta Duniya ta Ƙungiyar Injiniyoyi ta Amurka a shekarar 2008.[1]
Tarihi
[gyara sashe | gyara masomin]A cikin shekarar 1870, haɓakar Cape Town ya haifar da ƙarancin ruwan sha. An yanke shawarar gina tafki a kan Dutsen Tebur don samar da ruwa ga birnin. Injiniyan ruwa na Scotland Thomas Stewart ya himmatu wajen tsarawa da gina tafkin.[1]
An gina rami na Woodhead tsakanin shekarar 1888 zuwa ta 1891. An yi amfani da shi don karkatar da rafin Disa, rafi na kogin Hout Bay, zuwa yamma don samar da ruwa ga tafki.

An gina Dam da tafki na Hely-Hutchinson a shekara ta 1904 kusa da tafkin Woodhead. An gina Dam Alexandra da Victoria Dam a kan asalin Disa Stream ta shekarar 1903. Na ƙarshe daga cikin madatsun ruwa biyar shi ne Dam ɗin De Villiers a shekarar 1907. An gina wannan a ƙarƙashin Kogin Alexandra da Victoria Dams. A yau, waɗannan madatsun ruwa guda biyar suna ba da kusan kashi 0.4% na ruwan Cape Town.[3]
