Wani bangare na shiyyar Nuer, Akobo yana iyaka da kudu da yamma da Sudan ta Kudu, daga arewa kuma tana iyaka da Wentawo, daga gabas kuma tana iyaka da yankin Anuak . Yankin yammacin wannan gundumar ita ce mafi yammacin Habasha . Garuruwan Akobo sun hada da Tergol .

Yankin Akobo ya fi yawan fadama, wanda ba shi da bambance-bambance masu girma; tsayin daka sun kai kusan mita 410 sama da matakin teku. Koguna sun hada da Kogin Gilo . A cewar Atlas na tattalin arzikin karkara na Habasha wanda Hukumar Kididdiga ta Tsakiya (CSA) ta buga, kusan kashi 10% na yankin daji ne.

Tattalin arzikin Akobo ya fi noma. Babu ƙungiyoyin haɗin gwiwar noma, babu cikakkun hanyoyin mota, da sauran ƙananan ababen more rayuwa.
