Ta yi aiki a matsayin Mataimakin Minista a Ma'aikatar Firayim Minista da ke kula da Harkokin Sabah da Sarawak a karo na biyu a cikin gwamnatin Barisan Nasional (BN) a karkashin tsohon Firayim Ministan Ismail Sabri Yaakob da Minista Maximus Ongkili daga watan Agusta 2021 zuwa faduwar gwamnatin PN a watan Nuwamba 2022 da kuma karo na farko a cikin gwamnatin Perikatan Nasional (PN) a karkashin tsohuwar Firayim Minna Muhyiddin Yassin da Minista Maxim Ongkili daga Maris 2020 zuwa Agusta 2021. Ita memba ce ta Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), wata jam'iyya ce ta hadin gwiwar Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) da kuma tsoffin hadin gwiwarta ta BN.[1] Ita kuma 'yar Abdul Taib Mahmud ce, Yang di-Pertua Negeri na Sarawak .

Hanifah ita ce 'yar ƙarama ta Yang di-Pertua Negeri na Sarawak Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud, wanda shine Babban Ministan Sarawak mafi tsawo. Ta kammala karatu daga Jami'ar San Francisco tare da digiri na farko a fannin Kasuwanci.

Kafin ta shiga siyasa, ta shafe kimanin shekaru ashirin tana aiki a fannoni daban-daban. Tana aiki a matsayin babban jami'in zartarwa a Jami'ar Fasaha ta Limkokwing da kuma Babban Darakta a Cats FM da Miri Marriott Resort & Spa .[3] Har ila yau, ita ce mai hannun jari na Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad da kuma Non-Independent & wanda ba babban darektan Sarawak Cable Berhad ba.[2][3] Ita ce kuma Shugabar kungiyar Pertubuhan Kebajikan Islam Malaysia (PERKIM) Wanita Bajeti Sarawak .[3]

Hanifah ta auri dan kasuwa na Singapore Datuk Syed Ahmad Alwee Alsree tun shekara ta 2000. A cikin 2017, an kiyasta dukiyarta a RM miliyan 309, wanda ya sa ta zama ɗaya daga cikin mata mafi arziki a Malaysia.
