Da turanci News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Hukumace mai tace labarai da rahotanni na kasa baki ɗaya wanda gwamnatin tarayyar Nijeriya ke gudanar da ita kaman dai tashan telebijin na NTA.[1] An kuma kafa NAN ne daga cikin wasu dalilai don yada labarai a yankunan daban daban na kasa da kuma yankunan wajen Najeriya kuma don ta zama hanya na daƙile labarai na ƙarya game da Najeriya.[2]

An kafa hukumar ne a 10 ga watan Mayun shekarata 1976, kuma an fara gudanar da aiki a 2 Oktoba 1978 .[3] A Manajan Daraktan na Agency ne Dame Oluremi Oyo.(OON).

NAN na gabatar da labaranta ga masu kallo a kanun labarai guda uku a duk rana. Sashin yanar gizo na hukumar itace www.nannews.ng (a baya can www.nan.ng) wanda aka gabatar a ranar 8 ga watan Agustan shekarar 2016 don watsa labarai a duk fadin duniya musamman ga masu ra'ayin sauraren labarai game da Najeriya, kasar da tafi kowacce kasa yawan jama'a a Afirka.

Mista Bayo Onanuga, Darekta mai kula da harkokin NAN, ya buƙaci ƙarin yawan shekarun ajiye aiki ga ma'aikatan NAN daga shekaru 60 zuwa shekaru 70. Bayo yayi wannan kira ne a yayin bikin ajiye aiki na Mataimakin babban jami'i a hukumar.
