Isaac Adeagbo Akinjogbin wanda aka fi sani da IA Akinjogbin marubuci ne kuma masanin tarihi ɗan Najeriya. Akinjogbin ya tsunduma cikin bincike mai zurfi na al'adu da tarihi, yana duba al'adu, tarihi, da al'amuran Yarabawa iri-iri. Yawancin tarihin Afirka suna ɗaukar sanannen aikin Dahomey da Maƙwabtansa, 1708-1818 a matsayin babban abu.[1]

An haifi Akinjogbin a shekarar 1930 a garin Ipetumodu dake ƙaramar hukumar Ife ta Arewa a jihar Osun a Najeriya, ya halarci makarantar Christ Church School Ipetumodu da Origbo Central School dake Ipetumodu tsakanin 1940 zuwa 1946. Ya kuma halarci Makarantar Grammar ta Ijebu Ode tsakanin 1946 zuwa 1950, Kwalejin Fourah Bay da ke Freetown tsakanin 1952 zuwa 1954, sannan ya halarci Jami’ar Durham ta Ingila, inda ya samu digirin farko BA (Hons) a fannin, Tarihin Zamani a 1957.[1]

Akinjogbin ya yi aiki a matsayin ɗan ƙarami mai Bincike don Tsarin Binciken Tarihi na Yarbawa, wanda Saburi Biobaku ya gudanar, tsakanin 1957 zuwa 1960. An mayar da shi Ingila a cikin wannan matsayi don gudanar da bincike a Ofishin Kula da Jama'a na London. An naɗa shi Masanin Commonwealth a Makarantar Gabas da Nazarin Afirka ta Jami'ar London a 1960.[2] Ya samu digirin digirgir (Ph.D) a fannin, tarihin Afirka a shekarar 1963. Ya fara aiki a Jami’ar Ife a shekarar a matsayin malami a sashen tarihi.[3] A shekarar 1965 ne aka naɗa shi a matsayin darakta mai riƙon ƙwarya na Cibiyar Nazarin Afirka, kuma a shekarar 1968, bayan da aka ƙara masa girma zuwa cikakken farfesa, aka naɗa shi a matsayin shugaban din-din-din na sashen.[4]
