Kura jam'in ta shine kuraye kura wata dabba ce mai launin ƙasa-ƙasa ko kuma ratsi-ratsi mafarauciyar nama (abincinta) tana daga cikin dabbobin daji masu hatsarin gaske. Wasu suna ganin kamar kura bata iya farauto abincin ta, sai dai ba haka zancen yake ba. Kura tana daga cikin dabbobin daji masu cin nama Kuma Naman ko wane iri ne ba wai sai ƴan'uwanta dabbobi ba har mutane takan kashe ta ci naman su. Da kura da zaki da sauran dabbobi masu cin nama dukkan su, suna da hatsarin gaske. Ana kiran kalan waɗannan dabbobin da turanci (carnivorous) wato masu cin nama ko wane irine. Sai dai kuma ita kura tana da ban tsoro sannan itama tana da tsoro sosai, ga tsoro ga ban-tsoro sai dai wani abinda baku sani ba game da kura shine, kura tana da basira sosai. Kuraye suna yawo kusan garke-garke, daga biyu zuwa fiye da haka, sai dai wasu masana sun tabbatar da cewa garken kuraye mafi yawa da aka taɓa gani, shine wanda aka gan kuraye saba'in da biyu (72) a garke ɗaya.
