Mugg & Bean wani Gidan cin abinci ne mai cikakken sabis wanda ya samo asali ne daga Afirka ta Kudu.[1] Ben Filmalter ne ya kafa gidan cin abinci a shekarar 1996 bayan ziyarar da ya kai shagon kofi na Chicago a farkon shekarun 1990 ya yi wahayi zuwa gare shi don buɗe irin wannan gidan cin abinci na Afirka ta Kudu.[2] An buɗe gidan cin abinci na farko a V&A Waterfront a Cape Town a cikin shekarar 1996.[2][3] Famous Brands ne suka sayi ikon mallakar a cikin shekara ta 2009.[4]

A ƙarshen shekarar 2018 da farkon shekarar 2019 Mugg & Bean ya sha suka daga jam'iyyun siyasa da ƙungiyoyin kwadago saboda zargin rashin adalcin ayyukan aiki. Kungiyar kwadago ta COSATU ta yi barazanar kai rahoton kamfanin ga mahukunta saboda saba ka’idojin aiki da suka shafi albashi da yanayin aiki. [5] A wani lamari na daban, jam'iyyar siyasa ta Economic Freedom Fighters ta nuna rashin amincewa da kamfanin a lokacin da wani manajan gidan abinci ya kori wani ma'aikacin gidan cin abinci bisa zargin wariyar launin fata yayin da kamfanin ya bayyana cewa an cire manajan ne kawai don rage farashi.
