Mutanen Tera wata ƙabila ce wacce itace ta farkon mazaunan yankin Gombe kafin karni na 18. A halin yanzu, ana samun yawancin mutanen Tera a gabashin garin Gombe.[1]

An yi imanin mutanen Tera sun bar Yemen kuma sun koma yankin Borno a kusa da yankin Chadi, inda suka zauna tsawon shekaru amma saboda rikicin siyasa. Mutanen Tera sun bar yankin Chadi Basin tare da Jukun zuwa yankin Gombe, wataƙila kusan 900-1000AD. Don haka, wasu gungun masu magana da yawun Tera sun yi imanin cewa sun bar Chadi Basin lokacin da Kanuri ke canja wurin babban birninsu daga Kanem zuwa Ngarzargamu a ca.1484, a karkashin Mai Ali Gaji.
