Gewane yanki ne a yankin Afar , Habasha . Daga cikin shiyyar mulki ta 3 Gewane ya yi iyaka da kudu da Amibara, daga yamma kuma yana da iyaka da Bure Mudaytu da shiyyar mulki ta 5, a arewa kuma tana iyaka da shiyyar mulki ta 1, daga gabas kuma tana iyaka da yankin Somaliya ; Kogin Awash ya ayyana sassan iyaka da shiyyar gudanarwa ta 5. Cibiyar gudanarwa ita ce Gewane ; sauran garuruwan Gewane sun hada da Meteka .

Mafi tsayi a wannan yanki shine Dutsen Ayalu (2145 m); wasu muhimman kololuwa sun hada da Dutsen Yangudi . Jikunan ruwa sun haɗa da tafkin Kadabassa, wanda ke cikin ciyayi mai sulke da ke shimfiɗa tare da Awash kuma ya zama muhimmiyar makiyaya ga makiyaya.
