Ta yi makarantar firamare a Esa-oke da Imesi-Ile kafin ta tafi Kwalejin Queen's, Legas don karatun sakandare. [1] Ta sami digiri a Jami'ar St Andrews, da difloma daga Cibiyar Ilimi a Jami'ar London . Bayan ta dawo Najeriya, sai ta zama malamar koyar da Turanci.
Labarin Itayemi mai suna 'Babu Wani Abin Dadi' ya ci gasar a shekarar 1946 ta Majalisar Birtaniyya don yankin yammacin Najeriya, wanda ya zo gaban gudummawar TM Aluko da Cyprian Ekwensi .
