A ranar 3 ga watan Agusta ne ake bikin ranar samun ƴancin kai a Jamhuriyar Nijar, inda al’ummar ƙasar suka samu ‘yancin kai daga kasar Faransa a shekarar 1960. Tun daga 1975, ita ce Ranar Arbor, yayin da ake dasa bishiyoyi a faɗin ƙasar don taimakawa yaki da kwararowar hamada .

Ranar 3 ga watan Agustan shekarar 1960 ne aka samu cikakken 'yancin kai daga kasar Faransa, yayin da ranar 18 ga watan Disambar 1958 ke zama ranar kafa jamhuriyar Nijar da kuma kafa shugabancin jamhuriyar Nijar, bayan da aka yi sauye-sauyen tsarin mulkin kasar Faransa na jamhuriya ta biyar, da zaɓukan ƙasar na ranar 4 ga watan Disamba 1958 da aka gudanar a dukkan faɗin mallakar Faransanci . Al'ummar Nijar na ɗaukar wannan ranar a matsayin kafa cibiyoyin kasa. Daga 18 ga Disamba 1958 zuwa 3 ga Agusta 1960, Nijar ta kasance jamhuriya mai cin gashin kanta a cikin al'ummar Faransa.
