Tafkin Asejire yana jihar Oyo a kudu maso yammacin Najeriya akan kogin Osun mai tazarar kilomita 30 daga gabas da Ibadan. An gina tafkin ne a karshen shekarun 1960. An haramta noma kwata-kwata a yankin magudanar ruwa, kuma an dasa itatuwa a kan bankuna, don haka zaizayar kasa da zubewar ƙasa ba matsala ba ce. Tare da wadataccen ruwan sha, tafki yana ci gaba da cika duk shekara.[1] Tafkin yana samar da ɗanyen ruwa ga masana'antar sarrafa ruwan Asejire da Osegere dake Ibadan.[2] An kammala aikin samar da ruwan sha a shekara ta 1972, kuma yana da karfin da ya kai kimanin lita miliyan 80 a kowace rana, wanda kashi 80 cikin 100 na aikin gida ake amfani da shi.[3][4]

Tafkin Asejire a Najeriya ya gurbace haɗe da magudanar ruwa da ba a kula da su ba daga yankunan da ke kusa da ruwa, birane, noma da masana'antu. Ƙarfe da ke ɗauke da fitar da ruwa na haifar da haɗari ga lafiyar kifaye da masu amfani da kifi a tafkin.[5]
