An haifi Akinyemi Tolulope Adeola Akinyemi a Ado-Ekiti. Ya yi digiri a fannin tattalin arziki daga Jami’ar Jihar Ekiti sannan ya yi digiri na biyu a fannin (Accounting and Financial Management) daga Jami’ar Hertfordshire, Hatfield, UK.[4]

Akinyemi ya tashi daga Najeriya zuwa Birtaniya a shekarar 2010 kuma tun daga nan ya buga littattafai guda ashirin da ɗaya.[5][6][7][8] Ya fito da littafinsa na farko na waƙa, mai taken; Dead Lions Don't Roar, a cikin shekaran 2017.[9]

Akinyemi ya fitar da, Dead Dogs Don't Bark , littafinsa na biyu na wakoki kuma littafi na uku a shekarar 2018.[10] Sai kuma Dead Cats Don't Meow, wanda aka saki a cikin Afrilu 2019 kuma ya ba da rangadin littattafai na ƙasashe da yawa na Birtaniya da Najeriya.[11]

An fitar da littattafan Akinyemi da aka buga/wallafa da kuma ta hanyar yanar gizo. An nazarta wakokinsa a matsayin “waqoqin daukaka” da mujallar Nazarin Turanci a Afirka, ta yi.[12]

Ya kasance mawaƙin baƙo a wurin taron Ndi Igbo North East England (NINEE) Black History Month.[15]

A ranar 25 ga Oktoba 2023, Lion & Lilac, ƙungiyar adabi wacce Akinyemi na ɗaya daga cikin waɗanda suka kafa ta, ta shirya taron waƙa don murnar watan Baƙar fata.[16][17] Tolu ya kasance jarumin kanun labarai, tare da wasu hazikan mawaƙa.

A watan Satumbar 2023, Tolu Akinyemi ya fara rangadin waka na farko a fadin Arewa maso Gabashin Ingila, wanda ya soma da The Cooking Pot, a gidan Baba Yaga, Whitley Bay. Wannan ya biyo bayan wasan kwaikwayo mai ban sha'awa a Poetry Jam, wanda aka shirya a Cibiyar Waddington Street da ke Durham, tare da wasu fitattun wurare a faɗin yankin.

Tun a shekarar 2017, Akinyemi ya ba da gudummawar wani kaso daga cikin kuɗaɗen da aka samu daga littafansa na sadaka. Ya bayar da gudummawar tallafi £1000, ga, Age Uk Northumberland's friendship line campaign.[22][23][24]
