Aikin Kogin Kano

Aikin Kogin Kano wanda akafi sanida Kano River Project aiki ne na zamani don haɓaka amfani da ƙasar noma a Arewacin Najeriya. Kogin Kano kuma ana kiransa Kogin Kano a cikin gida.[1]An kadamar da aikin ne don samar da isasun filayen noman rani a yankin a karkashin kulawar Hadejia-Juma’are River Basin Development Authority.[2]

An fara shawarar aikin tun cikin shekara ta 1960 bayan bin binciken diddigin amfani da ƙasa da taimakon fasaha daga Hukumar Burtaniya ta Kasashen Waje watau (British Overseas Development Authority "ODA") da USAID. Manyan abokan aikin sun hada da KRP wanda ya kasance Kamfanin Gine-gine na kasar Netherlands (NEDECCO).[3] An fara aikin gadan-gadan bayan yakin basasar Najeriya a ƙarshen shekarun 1960s. Aikin Kogin Kano (KRP) ya hada wuraren ambaliya. na ruwayen da suka hada da Kogin Kano, Kogin Challawa da haɗuwarsu ta cikin Kogin Hadejia da Jama'are. Ana iya kange hanyoyin ambaliyar ruwan ne kadai ta hanyar dbaarun gargajiya kafin gina KRP. An kirikiri KRP don samar da cigaba a harkokin noma tare da mai da hankali kan noman zamani ban ruwa watau noman rani (irrigation). An tsara wannan aikin noman rani don shafe kimanin hekta 66,000. KRP ya kuma kasu kashi-kashi, a yanzu kimanin hekta 22,000 kawai aka kaddamar wanda ake kira KRP 1. Aikin dam din ya dogara ne da Tiga Dam, da Dam na Bagauda, da kuma Challawa Dam da sauran hanyoyin ruwa da ke kewaye da su. An ayyana cewa akasarin riban tattalin arziƙin ruwan na (noma, kamun kifi, itacen mai) sun kai aƙalla dalar Amurka 32 cikin 1000 m 3 na ruwa (a farashin shekarar 1989). UNEP ta gano cewa, ribar da aka samu a duk abinda aka shuka a aikin Kogin Kano ya kai kusan dalar Amurka 1.73 a cikin 1000 m 3 kuma lokacin da aka haɗa farashin aiki, an rage fa'idodi na aikin zuwa US $ 0.04 akan 1000 m 3 . Ci gaban KRP ya canza yanayin tattalin arziƙin mazauna karkara da yawa waɗanda ke tsunduma cikin ayyukan ban ruwa. Ana samar da amfanin gona iri daban daban a ƙarƙashin ayyukan ban ruwa na KRP. Wadannan sun hada da tumatir, barkono, shinkafa, alkama, masara, kubewa da sauransu da dama da ake nomawa don amfanin gida. Yawanci ana tura kayayyakin zuwa kasuwannin cikin gida na Kano da kuma wurare da yawa a kudancin Najeriya.

An kalubalanci KRP saboda haifar da lalacewar kasa a tafkin Chadi ta hanyar kwararar ruwa a cikin madatsun ruwa. Sakin ruwa daga madatsun ruwan har wayau na haifar da ambaliyar ruwa a yankin. Baza'a iya kiran KRP aikin nasara ba idan aka yi la’akari da gaskiyar cewa tun lokacin da aka kaddamar da ita a tsakanin shekaran 1960s zuwa shekarun 1970s cewa har yanzu ba'a gama kaddamar da ayyukan sashin KRP 1 ba balle sauran. Wani babban kalubalen shine batun hakkokin mallakar filaye, yadda ake gudanar da tsarin filayen noman akwai alamar tambaya. Kula da ruwa shima yana daya daga cikin kalubalen da ke addabar inganci da dorewar KRP. Gurbatar muhalli shima babban kalubale ne ga mahalli. Babban tushen gurbatawa shine yawan amfanin gona da sinadaran masana'antu watau chemicals. [4]
