Eugène Rutagarama, masanin muhalli ne daga Ruwanda . An ba shi lambar yabo ta " Goldman Environmental Prize " a shekara ta 2001, saboda ƙoƙarin da ya yi na ceton al'ummar gorilla na dutse a cikin gandun dajin Volcanoes a tsaunin Virungas, a lokacin yaƙi da tashe-tashen hankula na baya-bayan nan a Jamhuriyar Demokradiyyar Kongo .[1]

Tun daga shekarar 2001, Rutagarama ya ci gaba da yin ayyukan kiyayewa, yana ba da gudummawa ga sauƙaƙe ayyukan haɗin gwuiwar duniya da nufin kare Central Albertine Rift, yankin da aka sani da flora da fauna daban-daban, ciki har da mazauni na yanayin gorillas na dutsen Virunga. Eugène ya kuma riƙe manyan muƙamai a ƙungiyar kare namun daji, Cibiyar Bincike ta Karisoke ta Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, da kuma hukumar kula da wuraren shakatawa na ƙasar Rwanda, bayan yakin 1994 da kisan ƙare dangi.
