Gwamnatin Soja na Captain Mike Akhigbe ne ta kafa harkar yawon bude ido a matsayin sashe a karkashin ma’aikatar harkokin cikin gida na jihar Legas a shekarar 1995.

An sauya sashin yawon bude idon daga ma’aikatar harkokin cikin gida sannann aka hade ta da ma’aikatar yada labarai da al’adu a shekarar 1991, inda aka kafa ofishin yada labarai, al’adu da yawon bude ido, wanda babban sakatare na dindindin ke jagoranta.[1]

A shekarar 1994 ne, aka raba sashen yawon bude ido da ofishin yada labarai, al'adu, da yawon bude ido, sannan aka hade su da ma'aikatar kasuwanci, masana'antu, da yawon bude ido (MCIT), inda aka maye gurbinsa da mukamin sakatare na dindindin da kwamishina.[2]

A shekarar 1998 ne hukumar kula da yawon bude ido ta jihar Legas da kuma hukumar kula da yawon bude ido suka hade waje guda suka kafa kungiyar bunkasa ruwa da yawon bude idanu ta jihar Legas (LSWDC), wacce wani Manajan Darakta ya jagoranta.[3]

An raba LSWTDC zuwa ma’aikatu biyu a shekara ta 2007, Ma’aikatar yawon bude ido da hulda da gwamnatoci da ma’aikatar bunkasa raya ababen more rayuwa.[4]

A shekara ta 2015 ne kuwa aka rada mata ma’aikatar bude idanu fasaha da al’adu tare da fadada ayyukanta na Minista a karkashin gwamnatin mai girma, Mista Akinwunmi Ambode.[5][6]
