Mohammed Marwana dan kungiyar Boko Haram ne. A watan Agustan 2013, ya yi ikirarin cewa ya karbi jagorancin kungiyar daga hannun Abubakar Shekau, wanda hakan ya saba wa rahotannin da shugaban kungiyar Boko Haram, Imam Liman Ibrahim ya bayar na cewa an kashe Shekau tare da nada Abu Zamira a matsayin shugaban kungiyar ta mayakan.
