Arewa People’s Congress (APC) kungiya ce a Arewacin Najeriya da aka kafa domin kare muradun Musulmai da suka hada da Hausawa da Fulani na yankin Arewa. An bayyana shi a matsayin reshen tsagera na kungiyar Arewa Consultative Forum.[1] An kafa kungiyar a hukumance a ranar 13 ga watan Disamban shekara ta 1999. Wani tsohon hafsan soja mai ritaya, Kyaftin Sagir Muhammed ne ya shugabanceta, wanda ya kasance yana aiki a Daraktan leken asirin soja. Jam’iyyar APC na da taken “don kare rabewar kasar” . Kungiyar ta ce za ta fara cikakken horon kare kai ga mazauna yankin na arewa dangane da hare-haren da kungiyar Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), kungiyar Yarabawa da ke kudu maso kudu ta kai wa Hausawa.

Bayyanar kungiyoyi masu tayar da kayar baya kamar APC da OPC na daya daga cikin abubuwan da ke kara rura wutar rikicin kabilanci a Najeriya. Babban sakataren jam’iyyar Oodua People Congress, Kayode Ogundamisi, ya zargi jam’iyyar APC da rikicin kabilanci. A watan Janairun shekara ta 2000 Sufeto Janar na 'yan sanda, Musiliu Smith, ya ba da sanarwar tukwicin N100,000 ga Gani Adams, shugaban reshen matasa masu gwagwarmaya da OPC. APC ba tare da bata lokaci ba ta kara kudin fansa zuwa N300,000.

Da yake jawabi ga taron Gwamnonin Kudancin kasar a watan Janairun 2001, Chimaroke Nnamani, gwamnan jihar Enugu, ya ce bayyanar wadannan kungiyoyi ya samo asali ne sakamakon gazawar ‘yan sandan tarayya na samar da isassun‘ yan sanda saboda karancin ma’aikata.[2]


A watan Nuwamban shekara ta 2006 Sagir Muhammed ya bayyana tsige Gwamnan Jihar Filato Chibi Joshua Dariye a matsayin cin fuska.[3]
