Idris Legbo Kutigi ya rayu daga 31 ga watan Disamba 1939 zuwa 21 ga watan Oktoba 2018 ya kasance lauyan Nijeriya kuma alƙali.[1] Ya riƙe shugaban Alkalai a jihar Niger da kuma Babban kamishinan a Hukumar Shari'a kafin yazamo Alkali a Babban Kotun Najeriya,[2] sannan daga bisani yazama alkali a kotun koli ta Nijeriya a shekara ta 1992. Yakaiga matsayin Shugaban Alkalai daga 30 ga watan Janairu 2007 har zuwa 30 Disamba 2009.[3]

An haifi Kutigi a 31 Disamba 1939 a tsohuwar kasar mulkin turawa wadda itace Nijeriya a yanzu, ya rasu a 21 ga watan Oktoba 2018, (wanda a yanzu take karkashin karamar hukumar Lavun , Jihar Niger). Kutigi ya ajiye aiki shima a ranar 30 ga watan Decemban 2009 a lokacina da ya kai shekarun ajiye aiki wato shekaru 70, inda ya rantsar da magajin kujerarsa Aloysius Iyorgyer Katsina-Alu a maimakon shugaban kasa, saboda shugaban kasa Umaru Musa Yar'adua na jinya rashin lafiya.[6]Daga nan ya dawo ya cigaba da aiki a matsayin alkalin High Court har zuwa mutuwar sa a watan Octoban 2018.[7]Kutugi ya cigaba da halartar taron manya na kasa (Council of State meeting) wanda akeyi don ra'ayin shugaban kasa.[8]

A cikin shekara ta 2014 ne shugaba Jonathan Goodluck ya nadashi matsayin chairman na National Conference akan harkokin tsarin mulkin kasa.[9][10]Anyi maraba da wannan matsayi da aka bashi daga kowanne bangare saboda gaskiyar sa da rashin nuna son zuciya a harkokin sa. A ranar 12 ga watan Yunin 2014 ya shiga tsakanin 'yan siyasan arewa da kudu wadanda suka kacema da fada akan tunawa da wadanda suka mutu a lokacin zaben shekarar 1993.[11]

Kutugi yana da 'ya'ya 18 da jikoki sama da 40. Ya mutu a Birnin London dake Kasar Ingila bayan rashin lafiya na dan lokaci.[12]

Akwai wata unguwa a birnin tarayya da aka sanya wa sunan shi a watan Aprelun, 2015 don tunawa da shi.[13]Sannan akwai babban wurin taro na Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi International Conference Centre da ke Minna wanda akayi don tunawa da shi.[14]

An umurci kada tutocin Najeriya don karramawa a yayin mutuwar sa kuma anyi hutun kwanaki 7 don tunawa da shi. An bude littafin jimaminsa a babban kotun koli na Najeriya.[15]
