Jihar Neja Jaha ce dake Arewa ta tsakiyar Najeriya. Tana da yawan fili kimanin kilomita dubu saba'in da shida da ɗari uku da sittin da uku (76,363 ), da yawan jama’a kimanin miliyan uku da dubu ɗari tara da hamsin da huɗu da ɗari bakwai da saba'in da biyu, ƙidayar yawan jama'a na shekara ta (2006).Babban birnin jahar shine Minna.

Jihar Neja na cikin jihohi 36 na Najeriya Takenta shi ne '"Power State"' saboda tana da madatsun ruwa guda uku (3) da ke samar da kusan kashi 70% na wutar lantarkin Najeriya.

An kafa jihar Neja ne a ranar 3 ga watan Fabrairun 1976 daga rusasshiyar jihar Arewa maso Yamma a zamanin mulkin Janar Murtala Mohammed.

Jihar tana a shiyyar arewa ta tsakiya mai yanki mafi girma wanda ya kai kusan 80000km2, tare da kusan kashi 70% na gonaki da noma. Jihar Neja tana iyaka da Jihar Zamfara ta ɓangaren Arewa, Yamma da Jihar Kebbi, Kudu da Jihar Kogi, Kudu maso Yamma da Jihar Kwara, Arewa maso Gabas da Jihar Kaduna da kuma Kudu maso Gabas da Abuja. Haka kuma jihar tana da iyaka ta ƙasa da ƙasa da jamhuriyar Benin tare da ƙananan hukumomin Agwara da Borgu zuwa Arewa maso Yamma.

Jahar ta Neja tana da manyan mutane da dama waɗanda suka riƙe manyan muƙamai a ƙasar Najeriya sannan jiha ce wacce ta ke da tsofaffin shugabannin ƙasa na Najeriya har guda biyu a lokacin mulkin soja, wato Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) mai ritaya da kuma Abdusalami Abubakar mai ritaya dukkaninsu mutanan Jahar ta Neja ne.[1][2]

Manyan ƙananan hukumomin Jahar su ne kamar haka: Chanchaga, Bosso da kuma ƙananan hukumomin Bidda, Suleja da kuma Kontagora.

Manyan yarukan jihar sun haɗa ne da Nufanchi, Hausa, Gbagi da kuma turanci inda yankunan Bidda da Agaie da kuma Lapai, Mokwa suka fi yawan masu amfani da yaren Nufanci, Yankin Kontagora, Kagara, Mariga, Mashegu Rijau, Suleja suke da mafi rinjayen masu amfani da yarukan Hausa. Paikoro, Chanchaga, Bosso, Edati da dai sauransu suna amfani da saura yarukan a matsayin masu rinjaye.

Akwai wuraren tarihi sosai a jahar ta Neja musamman a garin Zungeru inda kuma a nan ne turawan Yamma suka saka hannu domin haɗewan Najeriya ƙasa ɗaya daga sauran yankuna sannan a wannan garin ne gwamnan farko na Najeriya ya yada zango a matsayin hedikwata gareshi.
