An haifi Chigudu a Zimbabwe,[1] inda ya halarci Kwalejin St George, Harare.[2] A shekara ta 2003 ya koma Birtaniya, inda ya halarci makarantar kwana mai zaman kanta na Stonyhurst College, inda ya ci gaba da karatu a fannin likitanci a Jami'ar Newcastle.[2]

Bayan kammala karatunsa, ya yi aiki a matsayin likita a cikin Ma'aikatar Kiwon Lafiya ta Ƙasa, kuma ya zama mai sha'awar daidaiton lafiya da lafiya a duniya.[3] Ya shiga cikin wurare da yawa na duniya, ciki har da Asusun Duniya na Mata (Global Fund for Women) inda ya karanci lafiyar jima'i a yankin Saharar Afirka.
