Mahaifiyar Ampofo Bajamushiya ce kuma mahaifinta ɗan Ghana ne da Asante.[2][3] Iyalin mahaifinta sun fito ne daga al'adar Jam'iyyar Convention Peoples Party (CPP). Ampofo ta halarci makarantar sakandare ta ’yan mata ta Aburi.[4] Ampofo ta samu digirin farko a Jami’ar Kimiyya da Fasaha ta Kwame Nkrumah, inda ta karanci zanen gine-gine. Ta yi karatun digiri na biyu a jami'a guda a fannin tsare-tsare da gudanarwa. Ampofo ta sami digiri na uku a fannin zamantakewa daga Jami'ar Vanderbilt. Bugu da ƙari, tana riƙe da Difloma ta Difloma a cikin Tsare-tsare daga Jami'ar Fasaha ta Dortmund, Jamus.[5]

Aikin ilimi

Ampofo ta fara koyarwa a Jami'ar Ghana (UG) a shekarar 1989. A lokacin 1994 da 1995, Ampofo ta kasance Junior Fulbright Scholar. A cikin shekarar 2005, ta zama Shugaba na farko na Cibiyar Nazarin Ilimin Jinsi da Shawarwari (CEGENSA) a UG, wanda ta riƙe har zuwa 2009. A kusa da shekarar 2008, ta zama edita na Nazarin Ghana, tana aiki a wannan mujallar har zuwa shekara ta 2013.[6] Ta kuma kasance editar Jaridar Zamani na Nazarin Afirka.

Ta kasance Mellon Fellow a cikin shekarar 2014 a Jami'ar Cape Town, inda ta yi aiki a Cibiyar Nazarin Afirka. A cikin shekarar 2015, ta yi aiki a matsayin Babbar Jami'ar Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence a Jami'ar Concordia Irvine.[7]

Ta taɓa tuntuɓar kungiyoyi irin su UNIFEM, UNICEF, Hukumar Lafiya ta Duniya (WHO), Save the Children, UNAIDS, Ministry for Gender & Social Protection, Ghana; Abokan Ci gaban Haɓaka; Cibiyar Nazarin Jinsi da Takardun kare Haƙƙin Bil Adama da Cibiyar Koyar da Zaman Lafiya ta Duniya Kofi Annan.[8]

A cikin shekarar 2019, a matsayinta na shugabar kungiyar Nazarin Afirka ta Afirka (ASAA), ta jagoranci taron farko da aka yi a Gabashin Afirka.[9] Ampofo ta kasance memba na ASAA wanda ta kafa a shekarar 2013.[10][3] Har ila yau, memba ce na Ƙungiyar Ƙwararrun Mata da Al'umma, (SWS), Ƙungiyar Nazarin Afirka, ƙasar Amirka, Ƙungiyar Haɗin Kai ta Gida ta Ghana, Ƙungiyar 'Yancin Mata a Ghana, Majalisar Cibiyar Nazarin Kimiyyar Jama'a a Afirka. (CODESRIA) da Ƙungiyar zamantakewa ta Duniya, (ISA). Ita kuma fellow ce ta Kwalejin Fasaha da Kimiyya ta Ghana.
