Muhammad bn Ali ( larabci : محمد بن علي الباقر), wanda aka fi sani da al-Baqir ( wanda ya buɗe ilimi ) (677-733) shi ne imami na biyar daga cikin limaman shia. [1] Shi ne ɗan Ali bin Husayn ko Zayn al-Abidin kuma imami na farko wanda ya fito daga jikokin Muhammad da Hasan bn Ali da Husayn bn Ali . Musulmin Sunni da Shia suna matuƙar girmama shi saboda shugabancinsa, iliminsa da kuma ilimin addinin Musulunci a matsayin masanin shari'a a Madina . Bayan wafatin Ali bn Husayn (Imami na huxu), mafi yawan ‘yan Shi’ar sun yarda da dansa al-Baqir a matsayin imami na gaba; wasu daga cikinsu suka ce, wani ɗan imam Zayd bn Ali shi ne imami na gaba, kuma ya zama ana kiran sa da Zaidiyyah .
