Akintobi ta fito ne daga Abeokuta, jihar Ogun.[1] Ta sami babbar lamba na Associate of Arts degree na karatuttukan adabi a cikin Watsa shirye-shiryen Jarida da Sifenanci daga Kwalejin Al'umma ta Volunteer (Volunteer State Community College) dake Tennessee, da kuma digiri na farko a fannonin karatun da aka ambata daga Jami'ar Texas A&M - Kasuwanci.[2] Haka kuma, ta sami takardar digiri na biyu a aikin Jarida na Kasa daga Jami'ar City a London.[3] Lamide ta zama mamba a kungiyar Delta Sigma Theta sorority a she Kara ta 2004.
