Jonathan Olumide Lucas, (an haife shi a shekara ta 1897). Limamin coci ne a Najeriya, malami kuma masanin tarihi wanda ya shahara da aikinsa kan tarihin addinin gargajiya na Yarbawa.[1][2] A matsayinsa na marubuci, yana cikin gungun masana tarihi na Afirka ta Yamma waɗanda suka ba da shawarar asalin Hamitic na mutane ko kuma fasalin al'adun ƙabilarsu.[3] Lucas yana aiki akan al'adar Yarbawa da harshe, ya danganta wasu ma'ana da zaɓin kalmomin da Yarabawa ke magana da tsohuwar Masar.

Lucas ya yi karatu a Kwalejin Fourah Bay, Jami'ar Durham kuma a matsayin dalibi na waje na Jami'ar London.[4] Tsakanin shekarar 1932 da 1935, ya kasance shugaban riƙo na makarantar CMS Grammar School, inda ya gaji ɗimbin masu gudanar da harkokin waje.[5] Lucas ya kasance jigo a ƙungiyar malamai ta Legas wanda daga baya ya haɗe da wata ƙungiyar malamai da shugabanni suka kafa kungiyar malamai ta Najeriya.[6]

A shekarar 1944, ya zama mataimakin shugaban majalisar dattawan Najeriya da Kamaru. Shi ne mahaifin likitan Najeriya Adetokunbo Lucas.
