Etteh, Bayarabiya ce[2] an haife ta kuma a ranar 17 ga watan Agusta shekarar 1953.[1][3] Ta yi karatu akan gyaran gashi da kuma mai ilmin gyaran jiki, amma kuma ta samu digirin lauya daga Jami’ar Bukingham da ke Ingila kuma ta zama Lauyan Najeriya[4] a shekarar 2016.

Etteh na wakiltar mazaɓar Ayedaade / Isokan / Irewole a jihar Osun Da farko an zaɓe ta a shekarar 1999 a matsayin mamba ta Alliance for Democracy (AD), amma ta sauya sheka zuwa jam’iyyar Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lokacin da ta sake tsayawa takara a 2003. An zaɓe ta a matsayin kakakin majalisa gaba ɗaya ga watan Yunin 2007,[5] kuma ita ce mace tilo da ta taba rike wannan mukamin a cikin gwamnatin Najeriya.[6]

A watan Satumbar 2007, ta fuskanci wani kwamiti na 'ƴan majalisar kan zarge-zargen cewa ta ba da izinin kashe Naira miliyan 628 (kwatankwacin dalar Amurka miliyan 5) a kan gyaran gidanta da na mataimakinta, da kuma sayen motocin hukuma guda 12 da aka tanada don Majalisar Wakilai. An zarge ta da satar yayinda take ƙoƙarin yin magana a cikin majalisar, kuma an fitar da ita ta hanyar tsaro yayinda lamarin ya rikiɗe zuwa tashin hankali,[7] duk da cewa ba a gurfanar da ita a hukumance ba.

A hukumance PDP ta cigaba da mara wa Etteh baya, kodayake wasu mambobin, kamar Isyaku Ibrahim, sun soki wannan matsaya.[8] Marubuci kuma malami Wole Soyinka na daga cikin waɗanda suka yi kira da ta yi murabus,[9] yayinda tsohon Shugaban kasa kuma dan jam’iyyar PDP Olusegun Obasanjo ya cigaba da mara mata baya.[10] A ranar 30 ga Oktoba, bayan matsin lamba na makonni, Etteh ta yi murabus daga matsayinta na kakakin majalisa. [11] Mataimakin ta, Babangida Nguroje shi ma ya yi murabus. Koyaya a wurin zama na karshe na zaman majalisar wakilai karo na 6, an amince cewa "Babu wani rikodi ko cigaban majalisar inda aka taba gurfanar da Patricia Olubunmi Etteh,"[12]
