A shekarar 1987, Daniel Makinde ya sami digiri na farko a Jami’ar Obafemi Awolowo, Ile Ife a fannin Lissafi. A shekarar 1990, ya kuma sami digirinsa na MSc a Applied and Computational Mathematics daga Alma mater ɗaya kuma a shekarar 1996, ya sami digirin digiri na uku a Jami'ar Bristol, United Kingdom.[4][2][5]

Shi mamba ne na kwamitin ba da shawara na Cibiyar Lissafi ta Pan African (PACM) da ke Tanzaniya tsakanin shekarun 2003 da 2005.[6] Shi memba ne na Cibiyar Nazarin Aiwatar da Nazarin Ilimin Lissafi (CARMS) a Jami'ar Inmore a Kenya kuma mataimaki na Cibiyar Nazarin Ilimin Kimiyya ta Ƙasa (NITheP) a Afirka ta Kudu. A cikin shekarar 2012, ya zama fellow na Kwalejin Kimiyya na Afirka kuma a cikin shekarar 2013, ya zama fellow na Papua New Guinea Mathematical Society don karramawa ga gudummawar da ya bayar.[7]
