Ekpo (fatalwa) sigar fasahar al'adu ce wacce ta samo asali daga mutanen Efik, Ibibio da Annang a Cross River / Akwa Ibom a Kudancin Najeriya. Haka kuma yankunan da ke maƙwabtaka da su, wato Arochukwu da Ohafia ( jihar Abia ) sun ɗauki wannan al’ada a lokacin faɗaɗa masarautar Aro-Kingdom.[1][2][3]

Ekpo duk ma'anar iri ɗaya ce da ta: Ekpe, Okpo-owo ko Akpo-owo kamar yadda Efik, Ibibio da Annang ke bayyana shi kawai a matsayin mutum marar rai ko mataccen rai wanda ke zuwa ƙasar masu rai.[4]

A Akwa Ibom kuwa kusan dukkan garuruwan nasu ne ake gudanar da mahalartan Ekpo musamman a lokutan bukukuwan da ake yi a Ikot Ekpene da Etim Ekpo da Oruk Anam da Abak da kuma Eket da wasu wurare a ƙasar Ibibio.[5]

Saboda zuwan Kiristanci da wayewar zamani, ba a ɗaukar Ekpo a matsayin matattu waɗanda ke dawowa ƙasar masu rai; a maimakon haka, a yanzu an san shi a matsayin tufafin da mutane masu rai ke sanyawa kuma ana ɗaukar su a matsayin wani ɓangare na al'adu da gadon jama'a.[6]
