A cewar majiyoyi da yawa,[1][2] ƙungiyar Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) ta yi gargadi ƙasa da sa'a guda kafin tashin bom na farko da ya fashe, kusa da dandalin Eagle Square (wuri na bikin), sai kuma, wajen ƙarfe 10:30 na safe, sauran bama-bamai suka tashi.[3]
