Annum ta kasance daya daga cikin ’yan wasa da dama ta hanyar rusasshen wasannin motsa jiki na kasa da ake gudanarwa duk shekara a Ghana. Ta ci gajiyar tallafin ’yan wasan Ghana daga Amurka kuma ta yi takara a Jami'ar Tennessee.[5] Ta shiga gasar Olympics a shekarar 1964, amma ba ta tsallake matakin farko a cikin dogon tsalle, inda ta zama ta 28 da mafi kyawun tsalle na mita 5.45.
