Akamanzi an haife ta a Uganda iyayenta 'yan gudun hijirar Ruwanda a shekarar 1979. [4] Ita ce ta hudu a cikin iyali guda shida. Ta yi karatun share fagen shiga jami'a a sassa daban-daban na Uganda. Iyalin sun ƙaura sosai, domin iyayenta 'yan gudun hijira ne a Uganda.[5]

Ta fara aikinta ne a shekara ta 2004 a birnin Geneva na kasar Switzerland a hedikwatar kungiyar cinikayya ta duniya (WTO). Gwamnatin Ruwanda ta nada ta a matsayin jami'ar diflomasiya/masu shawarwarin kasuwanci ta musamman a WTO. Daga baya, ta koma ofishin jakadancin Ruwanda a London, United Kingdom a matsayin jami'ar diflomasiyya ta kasuwanci ( haɗe-haɗe na kasuwanci).

Ta koma Rwanda a shekara ta 2006 kuma an nada ta a matsayin mataimakiyar Darakta Janar na Hukumar Kula da Zuba Jari da Kayayyakin Ruwa ta Ruwanda (RIEPA) "kafin a hade RDB da sauran cibiyoyi a shekarar 2008". A shekara ta 2008, Akamanzi ta zama Mataimakiyar babban jami'in gudanarwa da ke da alhakin Ayyukan Kasuwanci da Ayyuka, a RDB.[8] Daga baya ta kuma zama babbar jami'ar gudanarwa na hukumar raya kasar Rwanda. [9] Daga nan ta dauki hutun karatu don ci gaba da karatun digiri a kasar Amurka. Lokacin da ta dawo, ta yi aiki a matsayin "Shugabar Dabarun da Manufofin" a Ofishin Shugaban Kasa. [10]

A cikin 2020, Hukumar Lafiya ta Duniya (WHO) ta sanar da cewa Akamanzi tana daya daga cikin mambobin kwamitin da suka kafa gidauniyar ta WHO.[11]
