Jamhuriyar Kalakuta ita ce sunan mawaƙi kuma ɗan gwagwarmayar siyasa Fela Kuti. Sansanin ya ƙunshi; gidaje, iyalan sa, mabiyansa da wurin daukar sauti-(studio). Jamhuriyar na a titin mai lamba 14 Agege Motor Road, Idi-Oro, Mushin, Lagos, Nigeria, tana da asibitin kiwon lafiya kyauta, da wurin yin rikodi-(studio).[1]

Fela Kuti ya ayyana jamhuriyar mai cin ƙashin kanta daga jihar da gwamnatin mulkin soji ke mulka bayan ya dawo daga Amurka a shekarar 1970.[2] Sansanin ya ƙone kurmus a ranar 18 ga Fabrairu, 1977 bayan farmakin da sojoji dubu suka kai musu.

"Kalakuta" ya kasance ba'a ga gidan kurkuku mai suna "Calcutta" da Fela ke zaune.[3] Asalin sunan ya samo asali ne daga sanannen Black Hole na gidan kurkukun Calcutta a Indiya.[4]

Kafin harin da aka kai gidan Fela, ya yi wani baiti da ake kira Zombie, game da mulkin sojan Najeriya. A cikin waƙar, ana kiran sojoji aljanu don yin biyayya ga umarni a makance. A cikin 2012, Babatunde Fashola, Gwamnan Legas, ya fara wani shiri na sake gina gidan da mayar da shi gidan tarihi. A ranar 15 ga Oktoba, 2012 ne aka bude gidan tarihi na Jamhuriyar Kalakuta a hukumance, domin tunawa da cikar Fela shekaru 74 da haihuwa.
