Tanta ya kasan ce wani birni ne a cikin Misira, tare da yanki mafi girma na biyar a ƙasar, kuma yana da mazauna kimanin 658,798 kamar na 2018[1]. Tanta yana tsakanin Alkahira da Alexandria: kilomita 94 (58 mi) arewacin Alkahira da kuma kilomita 130 (81 mi) kudu maso gabashin Alexandria. Babban birnin Gharbia Governorate[2], cibiya ce ta masana'antar auduga[3]. Kuma daya daga cikin manyan titunan/layikun jirgin ƙasa ya ratsa ta garin Tanta[4][5]. Ana gudanar da bukukuwa na shekara-shekara a cikin garin Tanta na tsawon mako guda wanda zai fara daga ranar 11 ga watan Oktoba don murnar zagayowar ranar haihuwar Ahmad al-Badawi, wani adinin Sufaye na karni na 13, wanda ya kafa Badawiyya Tariqa a Misira kuma aka binne shi a Masallacin Ahmad Al-Badawi, babban masallacin Tanta. Tanta gari ne daya shahara wajen sayarda kayan makulashe (alawa) a shaguna da kuma gasasshen kaji[6].

Sunan babban garin shine <big>Tandata<big> wanda ya zo daga sunanta na Koftik. Tare da manyan gonakin auduga, a cikin 1856, Tanta ya zama tasha a kan hanyar jirgin ƙasa, da farko don amfanin fitar da audugar zuwa kasuwannin Turai. An ba shi izini don fara sabon tsari a cikin Tanta kuma ba da daɗewa ba ya zama ɗaya daga cikin manyan brotheran uwantaka ta Sufi a Masar.
