Bala Usman (1945 zuwa Satumba, 2005) masanin tarihin Najeriya ne kuma ɗan siyasa, wanda yana ɗaya daga cikin malaman da suka tsara tarihin Nijeriya.[1] Ya kasance wanda ya kafa Cibiyar Bunkasa Dimokuradiyya, Bincike da Horaswa a Jami’ar Ahmadu Bello da ke Zariya.[2][3]

An haifi Usman a shekarar 1945 a garin Musawa dake cikin lardin Katsina, a Najeriya. Mahaifinsa shi ne Durbin Katsina (lakabi na gargajiya mai martaba a masarautar Katsina) kuma dan'uwa ga Sarkin Katsina Usman Nagogo. Mahaifiyarsa diyar Sarkin Kano Abdullahi Bayero ce. Ya halarci Karamar Firamare ta Musawa, Babbar Makarantar Firamare ta Kankia, Babbar Makarantar Firamare ta Minna da Kwalejin Gwamnati da ke Kaduna.[4] Daga nan ya tafi karatu a Kwalejin Koyarwa na Jami'a sannan kuma a Jami'ar Lancaster inda ya kammala karatunsa da digiri a fannin Tarihi da Kimiyyar Siyasa. Ya dawo Najeriya a shekarar 1967 ya zama malami a Kwalejin Barewa da ke Zariya inda ya koyar har zuwa 1971. Usman ya fara karatun digirinsa a shekarar 1970 a Jami’ar Ahmadu Bello, inda ya samu digirin digirgir a shekarar 1974. Ya fara koyarwa a jami’ar a matsayin malamin rabin lokaci kafin a daukaka shi zuwa cikakken lokaci.[5][6]

A lokacin Jamhuriyar Najeriya ta biyu, ya kasance Sakataren Gwamnatin Jihar Kaduna karkashin jam’iyyar PRP ta gwamnatin Balarabe Musa.[7][8]
