A ranar 26 ga Mayu, 2021, wani jirgin ruwa makil ko dauke da fasinjoji akalla 160 ya nutse cikin ruwa biyo bayan ya buge wani abu a yankin kogin Niger na Najeriya.[1][2][3] Jirgin ruwan yana tafiya ne tsakanin jihar Neja da Wara a jihar Kebbi a lokacin da ya nutse. Lamarin ya yi sanadin mutuwar mutane aƙalla 98.[4]

A watan Yulin 2020, wani kwale-kwale ya nutse a jihar Benuwe dauke da mutane kusan 30, kuma mutane bakwai sun mutu a lokacin da wani kwale-kwalen ya nutse ana tsaka da sheƙa ruwan sama a kusa da Legas, sai kuma wani kwale-kwalen da ya hallaka mutane su takwas bayan wata guda.[5]

Tsakanin karfe 8:15 na safe zuwa 8:20 na safen, kwale-kwalen ya bugi wani abu a cikin kogin, wanda ya sa cikin sauri ya karye kuma ya nutse. Galibin fasinjojin da ke cikin kwale-kwalen mata ne da yara ƙanana da ke niyyar tafiya zuwa Warrah don siyar da abinci a kasuwa, da kuma wasu masu hakar ma'adinai, duk a cikin Kwale-kwalen.[1][2][6][7][8]
Kwale-kwalen ya dauko fasinjoji ne a wuraren da ba a kayyade a bakin kogin sabanin wani jirgin sama na hukuma, mai yiyuwa ne don gujewa biyan haraji, kuma saboda haka ba a san hakikanin adadin fasinjojin da ke cikin jirgin ba.[2] Jirgin dai wani tsohon kwale-kwale ne na katako wanda ke daukar fasinjoji tsakanin 80 zuwa 150. Baya ga fasinjojin, kwale-kwalen yana kuma dauke da jakunkunan yashi daga wata ma'adanin zinare. [2][6][9]
An ceto fasinjoji tsakanin 22 zuwa 26 jim kaɗan bayan afkuwar hatsarin, sannan kuma an gano gawarwaki 76. 'Yan sandan ruwa, masunta na cikin gida, da masu ruwa da tsaki sun shiga aikin ceto da ceto. Ba a gano sauran fasinjojin ba kuma ana kyautata zaton sun mutu.[5][6][9][10][11][12][13]

Kungiyar gwamnonin Najeriya ta bayar da tallafin naira miliyan 50 ga iyalan wadanda abin ya shafa.[15] Gwamnan jihar Kebbi, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, ya yi alkawarin bayar da naira miliyan 11 ga iyalan wadanda abin ya shafa.[13]
Kungiyoyin da dama sun soki gwamnati kan yadda ake samun karuwar hadurran jiragen ruwa, inda suka dora laifin rashin aiwatar da ka’idojin tsaro.[5] Shugaban Majalisar Manajan Daraktocin Hukumar Kwastam ta Kasa ya ba da shawarar cewa gwamnati ta sayi jiragen ruwa domin tabbatar da tsaro ga jama’a.[5] Sarkin Yauri, Muhammad Zayyanu, ya roki gwamnati da ta yaye kogin Neja tare da tabbatar da cewa kowane ma’aikacin kwale-kwale ya samu isassun rigar ceto ga kowane fasinja.[10] Kungiyar ’yan yawon Bude ido da masu safarar ruwa ta Najeriya ta bayyana lamarin a matsayin wani abin takaici na kasa da kuma abin kunya ga al’umma tare da yin kira ga gwamnati da ta yi taswirar rafuka, ratsa rafuka, tare da kawar da tsofaffin baraguzan ruwa.[16]
A madadin gwamnati, hukumar kula da hanyoyin ruwa ta kasa ta zargi ma’aikatan jirgin da yin lodin wuce kima da kuma karya ka’idojin tsaro.[5] Hukumar ta yi Alkawari aiwatar da ka’idojin tsaro kamar tabbatar da cewa kwale-kwalen suna da isassun rigunan ceto ga kowane fasinja da ke cikin jirgin da kuma hana jiragen ruwa yin aiki da daddare.[5] A ranar 3 ga watan Yuni ne hukumar NIWA ta sanar da ba da horo na tilas ga duk ma’aikatan jirgin ruwa, inda ta ba wa waɗanda suka kammala kwas din lakabin “certified captain”.[17] Gwamnan jihar Kebbi, Atiku Bagudu, ya yi alkawarin gudanar da bitar dokokin ruwa domin kare afkuwar haɗururruka a nan gaba.[10][12] Rundunar ‘yan sandan jihar Neja ta bukaci daukacin ma’aikatan kwale-kwalen da su bi ka’idojin tsaro da suka hada da rigunan ceto da kuma bin iyakar karfin kwale-kwale.[9]
