Joseph Wayas (21 ga Mayu 1941 - 30 Nuwamba 2021[1]) shi ne Shugaban Majalisar Dattawan Najeriya a lokacin Jamhuriyya ta Biyu (1979-1983).

An haifi Wayas a Basang, Obudu, Jihar Cross River a ranar 21 ga Mayu 1941 kuma ya halarci makarantar Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha . Ya tafi Ingila inda ya yi karatu a Kwalejin Fasaha ta Tottenham, London, Kwalejin Kasuwanci, Kimiyya da Fasaha ta Yammacin Bronwich, Birmingham da Jami'ar Aston, Birmingham.Da ya dawo Najeriya, ya yi aiki a matsayin manajan ko mai kula daga 1960-1969 ga kamfanoni da yawa a Najeriya da Ingila.[1]

Wayas ya kasance memba na Society of International Affairs a Jami'ar Lincoln, Amurka.[2][3]

Wayas ya shiga gwamnatin tarayya a shekarar 1969-72.

Ya kasance kwamishinan sufuri, Jihar Kudu maso Gabas, yanzu ya shiga cikin jihohin Akwa Ibom da Cross River daga 1972-74.

Ya wakilci gundumar sanata ta arewa tare da Sanata Joseph Oqua Ansa wanda ke wakiltar gundumar sanatocin Calabar. Wayas yana kyakkyawar dangantaka da shugaban kasar Shehu Shagari, yana tabbatar da cewa an tattauna kuma an amince da takardun kudi kafin a gabatar da su.[4]
