Abdul Mahmud Lauya ne a Najeriya, mai sukar zamantakewa al'umma, marubuci, mai ba da shawara kan haƙƙin ɗan adam, ma'aikacin ilimi, marubuci. [1] Sa'annan kuma ya kasance tsohon shugaban ƙungiyar ɗalibai kuma mai fafutuka. A halin yanzu shi ne Shugaban kungiyar lauyoyi mai suna Public Interest Lawyers League (PILL), ƙungiyar ƙwararru da masu zaman kansu na lauyoyi waɗanda suka himmatu domin ingantawa da aiwatar da haƙƙin ƙungiyoyi mutane masu rauni da 'yan tsiraru, zurfafa dimokuradiyya da shugabanci da fadada dokar ra'ayoyin jama'a.[2] Shi mawaki ne na kasar Najeriya na ƙarni na uku wanda ayyukansa suka bayyana a ƙarƙashin sunan yaƙi, Obemata . An kuma fassara wasu waƙoƙinsa zuwa yaren Polishna kasar poland, Lithuanian na kasar Lithuania da kuma yaren Faransanci na kasar Faransa dake yankin Europe.

An haifi Abdul 'Aminu' Mahmud a Bauchi, Arewa maso gabashin Najeriya a ranar 20 ga Nuwambar shekara ta alif dubu daya da dari tara da sittin da takwas wato 1968. Ya yi karatunsa na digiri na daya a Makarantar Fasaha da Kimiyya ta Tarayya, Jihar Ondo da Jami'ar Jos, Jihar Plateau inda ya sami digiri na farko na Shari'a, LL.B (Honours), sannan ya ci gaba zuwa Makarantar Shari'a ta Najeriya don Jagoran Shari'a, LL.M.

Abdul Mahmud ya zama Shugaban Ƙungiyar Daliban Najeriya ta Kasa wacce aka fi sani da NANS a watan Nuwambar shekara ta alif dubu daya da dari tara da casa'in wato 1990, kuma jagorancinsa da gwagwarmayarsa sun haifar da sace shi da kuma tsare shi da Ma'aikatar Tsaro ta Jiha aka DSS tare da wasu manyan mambobin ƙungiyar. [3] An tsare tare da shi Bamidele Aturu, Nasir Kura, Chima Okereke, Olatunji Kayode, Bunmi Olusona da Christian Akanni.[4]

Shi ne Babban Mai ba da shawara a kamfani Afisa Lex, (Lauyuka & Masu Ba da Shawara), dake da tushe a garinAbuja da Shugaban Kungiyar Lauyoyi ta Jama'a mai suna (PILL). Kafin wannan, ya kasance Babban Jami'in Shari'a na masana'antar Tivoli Technology, Stoke Poges, dake kasar Ingila kuma ya yi aiki a matsayin shugaba ko kuma Darakta na Ayyukan Shari'a, Ƙungiyar 'Yancin Bil'adama, CLO, Najeriya. Ya kasance ya samu lambar yabo na ɗan kasar Holland a kan ayyukan Ci gaba, Shari'a & Adalci na Jama'a na Cibiyar Nazarin Jama'a ta Duniya dake babban birnin kasar Hollan din wato The Hague (aji na 1998), kuma ya kasance Malami Mai Ziyarci a Dokar 'Yancin Dan Adam, Jami'ar Olabisi Onabanjo, Jihar Ogun . Ya kasance wakilin taron kasa na Najeriya na 2014 wanda ke wakiltar kungiyoyin jama'a.[5]
