An kirkiri tsarin samar da wutar lantarki na kasa (NIPP) a shekarar 2004 [1] lokacin da Olusegun Obasanjo ya kasance shugaban gwamnatin tarayyar Najeriya. An kafa ta ne domin magance matsalolin rashin isassun wutar lantarki da yawan iskar gas da ke tashi daga hako mai a yankin Neja Delta. An kera tashoshin samar da wutar lantarki guda bakwai a jihohin da ke samar da iskar gas a wani bangare na aikin.

- Tashar wutar lantarki ta Ihovbor Benin, Jihar Edo mai karfin 4 x 112.5 MW (ISO 126 MW).
- Tashar wutar lantarki ta Calabar, Jihar Cross River mai karfin 5 x 112.5112.5 MW (ISO 126 MW).
- Tashar wutar lantarki ta Egbema, Jihar Imo mai karfin 3 x 112.5 MW (ISO 126 MW).
- Tashar Wutar Lantarki ta Gbarain, Yenagoa, Jihar Bayelsa mai karfin 2 x 112.5 MW (ISO 126 MW).
- Tashar wutar lantarki ta Sapele, Jihar Delta mai karfin 4 x 112.5 MW (ISO 126 MW).
- Tashar wutar lantarki ta Omoku, Jihar Rivers mai karfin 2 x 112.5 MW (ISO 126 MW).
- Tashar wutar lantarki ta Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom mai karfin 2 x 112.5 MW (ISO 126 MW) (wanda aka maye gurbinsa da tashar wutar lantarki ta Ibom).
Tare, ayyukan sun samar da kwangiloli na dala miliyan 414,000 don samar da injina da na'urorin samar da wutar lantarki ga General Electric (GE). - Tashar Wutar Lantarki ta Alaoji, Jihar Abia, haɗin gwiwar masana'anta mai karfin 4 x 112.5 MW (ISO 125 MW) da 2x tururi 255 MW
- Tashar wutar lantarki ta Omotosho II, Jihar Ondo, mai karfin 4 x 112.5 (ISO 125 MW)
- Tashar wutar lantarki ta Olorunsogo II, Jihar Ogun, haɗin gwiwar masana'anta mai karfin 4 x 125 MW da 2 x tururi 125 MW
- Tashar wutar lantarki ta Geregu II, jihar Kogi, mai karfin 434MW [5]
Bayan kamfanonin Afam V da Geregu I, yanzu Geregu II ya zama tashar samar da wutar lantarki ta iskar gas ta uku da Siemens za ta gina a Najeriya a matsayin aikin birki da kuma kammala a kan tsari. Iyakar isar da saƙon da Siemens ya bayar don Geregu II ya haɗa da turbin gas na SGT5-2000E guda uku, injinan SGen5-100A guda uku, da duk tsarin lantarki da tsarin sarrafa SPPA-T3000.
An maye gurbin tashar samar da wutar lantarki ta Ikot Abasi NIPP da Ibom Power, wanda aikin 190 MW ne na gwamnatin jihar Akwa Ibom.
