An haife Fati Lami Abubakar ne a ranar 12 ga watan Afrilun shekara ta alif dari tara da hamsin da daya 1951 a Minna, Nigeria, ta kammala karatun ta a makarantar Sarauniya Elizabeth a Ilorin Kwara .[2] Ta kuma yi kwaleji a Ilorin kafin ta tafi Kwalejin Gwamnatin Tarayya, Sakkwato da Jami'ar Ife . A karatun ta na jami'a, ta kammala digiri a fannoni da dama a fannin shari'a, tun daga digiri na farko har zuwa Daktar Falsafa . [3] Fati Lami Abubakar ta kuma kammala ƙarin karatu a Makarantar Shari’a ta Najeriya .

Fati Lami Abubakar ta fara aikin lauya ne a matsayin mai duba da kuma babban mai ba da shawara a Najeriya. An nada ta a matsayin lauya janar na ma’aikatar shari’ar jihar Neja a shekarar alif dari tara da tamanin da biyar 1985 kuma alkali a babbar kotun a shekara ta alif dari tara da tamanin da tara 1989. A watan Maris na shekarar 2013, an nada Fati Lami Abubakar a matsayin Babban Alkali na jihar Neja. Ta rike wannan matsayin har zuwa lokacin da ta yi ritaya a watan Afrilun shekarar 2016.[4]
