Mohammed Bello (1930 – 4 Nuwamba 2004) ya kasance alkalin-alkalan Najeriya daga 1987 zuwa 1995.[1]

An haifi Bello a Katsina a shekarar 1930. Mahaifinsa, Muhammadu Gidado, masanin shari'a ne kuma ya riƙe muƙamin mufti a fadar masarautar Muhammadu Dikko ;[2] ya kasance daga zuri'ar Mallam Isyaka Daura, wanda yayi zamani da Uthman dan Fodio wanda ya kafa Daular Sokoto.[3] Bello ya yi karatun Islamiyya na gargajiya a gida tare da manyan malamai kafin a tura shi makarantar Elementary Katsina da Katsina Middle School sannan ya halarci Kwalejin Barewa daga 1945 zuwa 1948.[4]

Bayan ya bar kwaleji, ya sami horo a matsayin manaja a Kamfanin United Africa (a yanzu Kamfanin Royal Niger Company). Sai dai bisa shawarar dattawan Arewa aka zaɓe shi tare da abokinsa tun suna yara Mamman Nasir don su karanta Latin a Jami’ar College Ibadan kafin su wuce Ingila inda aka ba shi horon shari’a kuma aka bashi matsayin lauya a masaukin "Lincoln Inn" a shekarar 1956. Ya kammala karatunsa a Middle Temple a Fitzgerald Chambers a 1958 kuma ya dawo aikin gwamnatin Arewacin Najeriya.[5]

An naɗa shi mai ba da shawara ga Gwamnatin Arewacin Najeriya a Kaduna. A karkashin wannan matsayi, ya yi aiki a matsayin ma'aikacin farar hula na mulkin mallaka kuma an gurfanar da shi da sunan Masarautar Ingila ta hanyar samun 'yancin kai a 1960.[6] A 1961, ya zama babban alkalin alkalai na farko a Arewacin Najeriya. A 1962, ya yi shekara guda a Makarantar Shari'a ta Harvard. Ya zama Darakta na masu (Director of Public Prosecution) shari'a a Arewacin Najeriya, a shekarar 1964.[7]

Faduwar Jamhuriyya ta Farko da kuma yadda aka yi amfani da doka da siyasa ya haifar da yaƙin basasar Najeriya, Bello ya zama alkalin babbar kotu a Kaduna, a shekarar 1966, sannan ya rike mukamin Alkalin Alkalan Arewacin Najeriya tsakanin 1969 zuwa 1975. Bayan shekaru tara yana alkali a manyan kotunan Arewacin Najeriya, shugaban mulkin soja Murtala Mohammed ya naɗa Bello shugaban kotun kolin Najeriya.[8]

A Kotun Ƙoli, ya sami girmamawa a tsakanin abokan aikinsa saboda ayyana doka da kiyaye ka'idodin kotu a cikin al'amuran shari'a.[9] An bai wa Bello lambar yabon Neja a aji biyu – Kwamandan oda na Najeriya; kuma, a 1987, Grand Commander of the Order of Niger. Ya kuma samu karramawa da dama, wadanda suka hada da kungiyar Shari’a ta Duniya da ke Montreal; ya ba da digirin girmamawa daga Jami'ar Ibadan, Jami'ar Legas, Jami'ar Obafemi Awolowo, da Jami'ar Ahmadu Bello da ke Zariya.

A 1987, Bello ya zama alkalin alkalai na Arewa na farko a Najeriya. Mohammed Bello ya rasu a ranar 4 ga Nuwamba, 2004. [11]
