Ewuare II (an haife shi 20 Oktoba 1953) an naɗa shi Sarkin Benin a ranar 20 ga watan Oktoban 2016.[1] Shi ne Oba na 40,[2][lower-alpha 1] taken da aka kirkiro wa Shugaba (Sarki) na Daular Benin a wani lokaci tsakanin 1180 zuwa 1300.
Ilimi
[gyara sashe | gyara masomin]Eheneden Erediauwa,[3] kamar yadda aka san shi kafin ya zama Oba ko Sarki na Benin, ya halarci Kwalejin Edo da ke Benin City ( Nigeria ) daga 1965 zuwa 1967 da Kwalejin Conception daga 1968 zuwa 1970. Ya sami satifiket na shedar A-Level daga South Thames College, London. Ya kammala karatunsa na digiri a fannin tattalin arziki a Jami'ar Wales, UK kuma yana da digiri na biyu a fannin Gudanar da Jama'a daga Makarantar Graduate na Jami'ar Rutgers, New Jersey, Amurka.[3]
Sana'a
[gyara sashe | gyara masomin]Ya yi aiki a Majalisar Dinkin Duniya tsakanin 1981 zuwa 1982. Ya kuma taɓa zama jakadan Najeriya a Angola da Sweden, tare da samun karɓuwa a ƙasashen Norway, Denmark da Jamhuriyar Finland. Ya kuma kasance Jakadan Najeriya a ƙasar Italiya.[3][4]
Mulki
[gyara sashe | gyara masomin]Ewuare II ya zaɓi sunansa a matsayin girmamawa ga Ewuare I na ƙarni na 15.[5] Tun hawansa ƙaragar mulki, Ewuare II ya yi aiki kafada-da-kafada da Godwin Obaseki, gwamnan jihar Edo a yanzu.[6] Kamar da yawa daga cikin magabatansa, ya fara mulkinsa ne ta hanyar neman a mayar wa jama’arsa babban birnin Benin Bronzes da aka sace a 1897 a cikin 1897.[7]
A watan Oktoban 2017, ya yi bikin cikar sa na farko a kan ƙaragar mulki, jama'a da dama sun halarci taron da ga yankin da kuma jami'ai, 'yan siyasa, da maziyartan wasu sassan Najeriya kamar Legas, Calabar, da Jos. Majalisar Sarkin Musulmi da kuma masarautar Ile-Ife su ma sun aiko da wakilai domin halartar bikin.[7]
A cikin 2018, Ewuare II ya ba da la'ana ga duk wani limamin juju da ke da hannu wajen aiwatar da fataucin mutane a yankinsa, kuma ya fito fili ya soke duk wasu la'anar da firistoci ke amfani da su wajen yin amfani da masu safarar mutane.[8] Wani manazarci ya ba da rahoton cewa "abin da oba ya yi na iya yin tasiri fiye da duk abin da al'ummar duniya masu yaƙi da fataucin miyagun kwayoyi suka yi nasarar". [8]
A lokacin yaƙin neman zaɓen gwamna a jihar Edo a zaɓen 2020, Oba ya ƙarfafa gwiwar duk ‘yan siyasa da su gudanar da rayuwarsu cikin lumana, lamarin da ya ba shi yabo daga ƙungiyoyi irin su Edo Equity Forum (EEF) da kuma Allied Peoples Movement (APM).[9]
A cikin 2021, Jami'ar Aberdeen ta amince da maido da ɗayan Benin Bronzes, wanda aka miƙa wa tawaga da ta haɗa da wakilan Ewuare II a ranar 28 ga Oktoba 2021.[10] Ya karɓa, kuma an mayar da (bronze cockerel) daga Kwalejin Jesus, Cambridge, a wani biki a fadar sarki a Benin City ranar 19 ga Fabrairu 2022.[11]
Rayuwa ta sirri
[gyara sashe | gyara masomin]A lokacin da ya naɗa Oba, Ewuare ya auri Sarauniya Iroghama (Obazuaye N'erie), Gimbiya Iyayiota (Obazuwa N'erie) da Gimbiya Ikpakpa (Ohe N'erie).[12] Daga baya ya ƙara auren mata.[7]

The Oba chose the name Ewuare II, in tribute to a predecessor who assumed the throne around 1440.
