Thanks a lot for your contributions. Just to mention that I have just created a Facebook page regarding the Hausa Wikipedia, in order to get more interest from Hausa-speaking people: you're welcome if you want to like it or share it with your friends: Hausa Wikipedia
Thanks a lot,
Kind regards, --DonCamillo (talk) 11:10, 5 Maris 2018 (UTC)
OK! thanks so much DonCamillo and I'll follow the page and share it.
The Living love talk 17:23, 12 Maris 2018 (UTC)
Hello DonCamillo
There is little differences between these words, the word " Prophet " Arabic (نبي) it means Annabi in hausa while the word "Messenger" Arabic (رسول) means Manzo.
The Living love talk
Dear DonCamillo Manzo means messenger in any sort of form anyone carrying messages can be called Manzo. It's just a dictionary meaning of messenger in hausa. While prophet have another literal meaning.Musa Vacho77 (talk) 07:25, 25 ga Yuni, 2020 (UTC)[Mai da]
Thanks a lot for your contributions to the project!
This is just to inform you that we have two applications for "admin" status (a status that allows you to delete non-appropriate content, to block people who are adding inappropriate information...) at the moment on the Hausa Wikipedia: Ammarpad and myself.
Your support would be much appreciated: we just need you to add "*Support --~~~~" here and here.
Congrats on your recent contributions improving the Hausa Wikipedia!
Just a few suggestions for translating from English: for references, since the Hausa Wikipedia does not have all the templates they have on the English Wikipedia, it is much better to use the very simple (for instance: ), otherwise the templates will not work and there will error messages, some content will not show up... To display the reference at the bottom of the article you can use <references/>, in a section like == Mazanarta ==, for instance (a friend told be it was an appropriate Hausa translation for references, but feel free to do otherwise). For pictures, if you use only there will be a problem with the size of the image, so for a better rendition you can use : the picture will be smaller and will appear at the top right of the article.
You can also use the Databox template (adding databox at the top of the article) and it will show an information box with information from Wikidata at the top right of the article.
Here are some recent updates and clarification of rules for you, and as always, let me know if you have any idea, thought or question.
Additional souvenirs (e.g. postcard) will be sent to Ambassadors and active organizers.
A participant's article count is combined on all language Wikipedias they have contributed to
Only Wikipedia Asian Month on Wikipedia or Wikivoyage projects count (no WikiQuote, etc.)
The global top 3 article count will only be eligible on Wikipedias where the WAM article requirement is at least 3,000 bytes and 300 words.
If your community accepts an extension for articles, you should set up a page and allow participants to submit their contributions there.
In case of redirection not allowed submitting in Fountain tool, a workaround is to delete it, copy and submit again. Or a submission page can be used too.
Please make sure enforce the rules, such as proper references, notability, and length.
International organizers will double check the top 3 users' accepted articles, so if your articles are not fulfilling the rules, they might be disqualified. We don't want it happened so please don't let us make such a decision.
Please feel free to contact me and WAM team on meta talk page, send me an email by Email this User or chat with me on facebook. For some languages, the activity for WAM is very less, If you need any help please reach out to us, still, 12 more days left for WAM, Please encourage your community members to take part in it.
If you no longer want to receive the WAM organizer message, you can remove your username at this page.
Congratulations! The Wikipedia Asian Month has ended successfully and you've done amazing work of organizing. What we've got and what's next?

There will be a progress page for the postcards.
Some Questions
In case you wondering how can you use the WAM tool (Fountain) in your own contest, contact the developer Le Loi for more information.
Just to let you know that there are already articles on Mohammed Buba Marwa (I have already merged the two articles) and Isah (Isa Almasihu, maybe it is better if you can add the content to this article directly). If you want to check if there is already an article in Hausa, the best way to do so is to check on Wikidata, this way you will immediately see if there is another article, maybe with another name. It's easy to create a redirect using #REDIRECT Name of the article.
Thanks! DonCamillo, I would like to let you know that, most of the articles duplicated were created with a different spellings, although I tried to make Redirect when I come across them, but articles like this Uosaine dan Ali instead of AlHusain or Hussain Dan/Bin Ali were totally misspelled. But anyway I'll check the wikidata first as you suggested. The Living love (talk) 11:56, 9 Disamba 2018 (UTC)[Mai da]
Thanks for your patience, I apologise for the delay in sending the Google form for address collection. Please share this form and the message with the participants who created 4 or more than 4 articles during WAM. We will send the reminders directly to the participants from next time, but please ask the participants to fill the form before January 10th 2019.
Things to do:
If you're the only organiser in your language edition, Please accept your article, keeping the WAM guidelines in mind.
Please report the local Wikipedia Asian Ambassador (who has most accepted articles) on this page, if the 2nd participants have more than 30 accepted articles, you will have two ambassadors.
Please update the status of your language edition in this page.

The contest starts runs from 1-28 February 2019. Independent from if there is a local contest organised in your country, you can help by making the photo contest Wiki Loves Love more accessible and available to more people in the world by translating the upload wizard, templates and pages to your local language. See for an overview
of templates/pages to be translated at our Translations page.
Thanks for all your amazing contributions to the project!
I am considering creating articles for the 50 US States: could you tell me if this pattern is alright, and correct me if the Hausa I use is wrong? In particular I am not sure about "kilomita murraba'i" to say "square kilometer". A friend who speaks Hausa as a second language told me that, but I cannot find it anywhere else online.

Invitation to participate in the upcoming WPWP Campaign[gyara masomin]
Hello Wikipedians,
This is to invite you to join the WPWP Campaign to help improve Wikipedia articles with photos and win prizes. The campaign will run from 1st July 2020 to 31st August 2020.
The campaign primarily aims at using images from Wikimedia Commons on Wikipedia articles that are lacking images. Participants will choose among Wikipedia pages without photo images, then add a suitable file from among the many thousands of photos in the Wikimedia Commons, especially those uploaded from thematic contests (Wiki Loves Africa, Wiki Loves Earth, Wiki Loves Folklore, etc.) over the years.
Please visit the campaign page to learn more about the WPWP Campaign.
With kind regards,
Thank you,

Como is a new Android app, that uses Wikidata lexemes and senses to create a word-guessing game. It let's players create new senses and tests them on other players to finally save them in Wikidata. The app is developed as part of a BA thesis, to determine if this concept is useful to create more lexicographical data, and testers would be very welcome.

(The Ƙara shafuka da fayiloli da na gyara a cikin jerin shafukan da nake bi setting was probably likewise ineffective, but this was not tested specifically.) Affected tools include QuickStatements, Mix'n'Match, and Wikidata Lexeme Forms; users of these and other tools may see more pages being added to their watchlists now. (This only applies to new edits and page creations; previously created or edited pages will not be automatically added to the watchlist retroactively.)

Public Domain Tool, developed by the Flemish Institute for Archives automates the process of determining whether their collection items could be in the public domain.
Sizes of country items (like "Portugal" (Q45)) were recently reduced by 30% to 50% by moving a few economics properties to "economy of"-items (sample: "economy of Portugal" (Q1649355)). The item "economy of Portugal" is currently larger than "Portugal". This can simplify uses of country items that previously timed-out. Infoboxes can still access the properties with the link through "economy of topic" (P8744).
Later this week, the development team will enable a rate limit for assigning new item IDs. Bots and users who successfully create items should notice no change, since the rate limit is equal to the existing limit on all edits. However, bots that often fail to create items may start to see different error messages than usual. This will hopefully reduce the problem of skipped item IDs.
Work on the Simple Query Builder continues. We finished connecting query conditions via OR (phab:T272694). Next we will work on adding the UI for sharing the visual query via a link (phab:T272887)

Fixed the case where no error was shown when trying to save a lemma with an invalid language code (phab:T265783)
Fixed a but where merging two Lexemes fails if the source Lexeme has links to its own Senses (phab:T273830)
Increasing the rate of edits that trigger a check by the constraint checker to 50%. This will increase the number of constraints violations that you can query in the Query Service. (phab:T204031)

Since the beginning of the month, phabricator tickets about language codes (and names of languages) were reviewed and triaged to better reflect their content and current status. Some work was done to better identify the steps for such changes, highlight and address bottlenecks and system issues. Patches for a few codes were contributed and are being released. Phabricator "Language codes" workboard provides an overview, phab:T284856 attempts to identify maintenance steps and phab:T284276 determine turn-around times. phab:T284808 should finally close a gap in termbox language handeling. A way to better address some or all aspects of changes of language codes applicable to Wikipedia editions still needs to be found. Don't hesitate to request the addition or update of language names (e.g. the name of Dutch in Danish) or missing language codes, notably for monolingual strings (see Help:Monolingual text languages).

Proposal to create new namespaces: We have proposed to create two namespaces, which are “Event” and “Event talk.” This way, we can easily create an Event Center that pulls data from event pages. This Event Center may include tools to create event pages with registration support, a calendar of events, and event statistics, among other features. More importantly, the Event Center will highlight organizing as an essential part of the Wikimedia movement. Please give us feedback on Phabricator or Meta about our proposal to create two new namespaces.
Engineering updates: We are excited that we have finished hiring for our engineering team! Three engineers and an engineering manager have joined our team since our last update. In the last few months, they have conducted technical planning and launched the building phase of the project. They are now building the registration tool. You can see the updated team on meta.
Design updates: We conducted usability tests with a small group of testers for early feedback on the desktop wireframes. After collecting this feedback, we have developed a new version for desktop wireframes, which will be ready to share in the next few weeks. These desktop wireframes display the user flow of two experiences: one for organizers who want to add registration to their event pages, and another for participants who want to register for an event. Additionally, the design team is also currently working on the first version of mobile wireframes, which will be shared during the next office hour.
2. Leave us some feedback on the desktop wireframes. Note that we haven’t posted the newest version of the desktop wireframes on the project page yet, but we will soon (and you can feel free to add feedback on any version you have seen).
Ambassador updates: Three product ambassadors for the Arabic, French and Swahili communities have now joined our team! They will help us collect feedback from Wikimedia communities about the project and understand the needs of organizers, through gathering first-hand information. These ambassadors are immersed as actual members of these communities, so they will also help us identify the needs of the organizers in our pilot communities. The ambassadors are: M. Bachounda for Arabic communities, Georges Fodouop for French communities, and Antoni Mtavangu for Swahili communities.
What is next?
Next Office Hour: We will be holding an office hour on March 31, 2022 at 15:00 UTC, which will be conducted via Zoom. We invite everyone to attend, and we really hope to see you! The focus will be on the Registration Tool. The team will also be providing community updates on the usability test findings and design highlights for the wireframes. We will also share our current Project timeline and answer any questions you may have. Join us and share your thoughts on these developments!
In a few months, we are expecting to have the early testable version of the tool. By then, the team will be doing the first round of general testing and gathering feedback. We are looking forward to adding more features on the tool such as communication support, potentially by the end of this year. If you know other organizers that might be interested in following these developments, please recommend that they subscribe to the newsletter. We want to receive as much feedback as we can.

Event Registration Tool: Demo and Invitation to Test[gyara masomin]
Hello Subscribers!
The Campaigns Product Team from the Wikimedia Foundation will be hosting two office hours to demo the new Event Registration Tool, and train organizers how to use it. In these office hours, you will learn how to:
Create an event page in the new event namespace (as an event organizer)
Enable registration on your event page (as an event organizer)
Collect data on who registered for your event (as an event organizer)
Register for an event on the event page (as an event participant)
You can attend one office hour or both, depending on your availability on the following dates:
Session 1: Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 5:00 PM UTC
Session 2: Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 12:00 PM UTC
These events will be multilingual, with live interpretations in Arabic, English, French, Italian, and Portuguese, and Swahili. Note that Portuguese will be available on the 21st, but not the 23rd. We strongly encourage you to join and share your feedback on the tool. Your feedback will help us improve the tool so that Wikimedians can have a better event experience. To register, please reply to this email or sign-up to our page, by adding your signature.
We have successfully launched Event Registration tool V0 on beta cluster and collected feedback from the first batch of testers. This tool is part of a more comprehensive organizing solution, the Event Center, which hopes to support movement organizers. Through this registration solution, organizers can collect useful data on campaign participants and their needs while respecting participant privacy.
Testing update. In our first round of feedback collection, testers were composed of different types of organizers around the movement with a language focus on Arabic, French, English, and Swahili communities. Most of the testers successfully created their test event registrations and signed up for a test event registration created by other organizers. Simple, easy to use, and aids in managing event participants were the common feedback we received from first-time users. In contrast, access and proper localization of the tool were the points for improvement identified. We are working on V1, which will include communication support and integration with the Programs and Event Dashboard. This will be released on Meta-Wiki soon. We hope to address accessibility during this launch and improve localization problems once the tool has been deployed in local wikiprojects.
Looking for a way to learn how to effectively organize around sustainability? Join the beta version of the Organizer Lab on WikiLearn to understand how to effectively organize a global campaign around sustainability and climate change! Applications are open from September 22 - October 19, 2022. The Organizer Lab will be a 9-week online learning experience from the end of October until mid December that prepares participants to obtain knowledge about the topics that they wish to create, a call to action for strategic knowledge gaps, as well as more generalized Wikimedia organizing and campaign/event design skills.
Organizer User Rights. We are reaching out to a pool of administrators from Arabic, French and Swahili communities to collect feedback on what is the best way to define organizer user rights, what privileges to give to community organizers, and what are the limitations of these privileges. Feel free to reach out to our product ambassadors or send an email to ibrazal-ctr@wikimedia.org if you are interested to be part of these conversations.
Community Feedback:
"Participants have been always asking the organizers are asked by participants whether they are registered, now participants will just look directly if they are registered, Thank you for creating the system" - French Organizer
“I think that the platform will facilitate the process of promoting events and searching for participants” - Arabic Organizer
Add your language projects and organizer list to the meta page 1 week before your campaign start date.
Inform your community members WAM 2022 is coming!!!
If you want WAM team to share your event information on Facebook / twitter, or you want to share your WAM experience/ achievements on our blog, feel free to send an email to info@asianmonth.wiki.
If you want to hold a thematic event that is related to WAM, a.k.a. WAM sub-contest. The process is the same as the language one.
Based on the COVID-19 pandemic situation in different region, this year we still suggest all the Edit-a-thons are online, but you are more then welcome to organize local offline events.
The international postal systems are not stable, WAM team have decided to send all the qualified participants/ organizers a digital Barnstars.
If you have any suggestions or thoughts, feel free to reach out the WAM team via emailing info@asianmonth.wiki or discuss on the meta talk page. If it’s urgent, please contact the leader directly (reke@wikimedia.tw).
Hope you all have fun in Wikipedia Asian Month 2022
In V1, the following new features will be includedː
Support for the organizer to specify an event timezone
Automatic confirmation emails after participants have registered
Private registration: the option for participants to register and only display their registered username to organizers of the event and we will teach you how you can use it yourself.
